Hairtuoso Academy is an online hair education platform built on practical, research-based training — created by a PhD holder with years of diverse industry experience across salons, editorial work, live shows, and the classroom. We offer Foundational and Advanced courses across six specialties, each designed to give you a clear blueprint from day one.
Our founder describes herself as a "friendly introvert" who values her privacy — so she has chosen to keep her personal identity separate from her online work at this time.
Part of what drew her to online spaces was the ability to connect, create, and share her knowledge without putting her personal life in the spotlight. Hairdressing is hands-on and deeply personal work, but she's found that video tutorials offer their own meaningful way to reach people and contribute to the industry.
She believes contribution doesn't require being the one everyone notices first. Being introverted just means finding a different way to connect — and this is hers.

Every course blends doctoral-level research with real, hands-on salon experience — not just theory, and not just trends. We build from foundational principles first, so you have a strong base to work from, whether you're just starting out or pushing toward advanced technique.
Foundational courses cover the core techniques every stylist needs to build real, working skill — the base everything else is built on. Advanced courses take that further with more complex, specialized techniques for stylists ready to refine their craft. We treat both as equally important; neither is a "lesser" version of the other.
Yes — as we continue to research and develop new curriculum, we'll be adding more courses over time.
Not for Foundational courses — they're designed to take you from first principles to confident, working skill. Advanced courses assume you've already built a foundation, either through our Foundational course or equivalent hands-on experience.
Yes — each course includes video tutorials covering its core lessons. We're in the process of producing and adding these; check individual course pages for the latest.
Mannequins let us focus entirely on technique. Because a video lesson often means pausing, redoing a section, or reshooting an angle, mannequins make it possible to teach a skill clearly and thoroughly without asking a real person to sit still for hours. They also give every student the same consistent starting point, which makes techniques easier to follow and practice at home.
